Maxwell Arrested

Epstein’s Partner Ghislaine Maxwell

The Justice Department has announced a laundry list of charges against Jeffrey Epstein’s former girlfriend and literal partner-in-crime, Ghislaine Maxwell.

The FBI arrested Maxwell this morning and according to the Daily Wire she is charged with,

two counts of Conspiracy to Entice Minors to Travel to Engage in Illegal Sex Acts, two counts of Conspiracy to Transport Minors with Intent to Engage in Criminal Sexual Activity, and two counts of Perjury.

You can read the entire indictment here, but it’s important to note that the FBI says at the outset that

The charges set forth stem for the role…of Ghislaine Maxwell, the defendant, in the sexual exploitation and abuse pf multiple minor girls by Jeffrey Epstein.

The victims were as young as 14 years old.

Some of Epstein’s victims have given graphic detail about Maxwell’s role in their trafficking. Specifically, the Netflix docuseries Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich chronicles the stories of survivors who were offered cash paying jobs by Maxwell who would then lure them into Epstein’s Miami mansion where the young victims would find themselves pressured into perverse behavior by Epstein and Maxwell.

One of the most glaring sections of the indictment reads that Epstein and Maxwell

“and others known and unknown, willfully and knowingly did combine, conspire, confederate, and agree together and with each other to commit an offense against the United States, to wit, transportation of minors,”

The phrase “others known and unknown” leads a bit of credibility to the often repeated theory that very high-dollar political figures, including President Bill Clinton, would jet-set with Epstein and young women to Epstein’s private island.

It will be worth watching how this plays out given the assortment of lawsuits and allegations circling Epstein’s former associates.
